MGA Restoration in Process

Every month we will be updating the progressive work on this MGA

Stage One:

 

     
       

 

 

Disassemble of parts from shell and panels, paint striping outside of bonnet, bootlid and near side rear guard, sand off old filler and surface rust on outside of near side rear guard. Sandblast edges of near side guard, paint strip outside of near side rear guard and near side front guard.

 

 
       
   

 

Sandblast top rear section of gearbox tunnel. Start Paint stripping outside of off side front guard. Remove old rusty boot floor and replaced it

 

 
   
       
     
 

Remove drive side front pillar support panel and replace it with remanufactured panel, remove old radiator duct panel and replace with new repair section.

 

 
 
       
 
 

 Bolt front half and rear half body sections on to chassis and start alignment of inner sill panels and remove door skin, repair door frame and intrusion bars. Beat door skin in to shape, before refitting on to frame. Near side lower front guard - outer sill dog leg repair panels fitted and panels aligned

 

 
 
       
 
 

OS inner sill panels fitted, OS front pillar middle sill and rear door pillars fitted and aligned and OS outer sill and dog leg panels fitted. Remove driver side front lower rusty guard section and fit new driver side lower front guard section and weld in to position.

 

 
   

 

Refit drivers side front guard and align to door and sill panel, drivers and passenger side guards fitted to nose section ensuring correct alignment of panels
